Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026.

This Privacy Policy explains how Mortaro Authority ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you visit our website or enquire about our services. We are committed to handling your data lawfully and transparently, in line with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, the EU GDPR, applicable US state privacy laws (including the California Consumer Privacy Act/CPRA), Canada's PIPEDA, the Australian Privacy Act 1988, and the UAE's Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (PDPL).

Who we are

Mortaro Authority builds local-authority websites for businesses. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact us at james@mortarogroup.co.uk or Joe@mortarogroup.co.uk.

Information we collect

  • Information you give us — when you submit our enquiry/booking form: your name, business name, email and/or phone number, and (optionally) your website address.
  • Information collected automatically — with your consent where required: cookies and similar technologies, your IP address, device and browser type, pages visited, and referral/campaign identifiers (e.g. UTM parameters, gclid, fbclid) used to measure our advertising.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry and arrange your call.
  • To provide, maintain and improve our services.
  • To measure and improve our marketing and website (analytics), only where you have consented.
  • To comply with our legal obligations.

Legal bases (UK/EU GDPR)

We rely on: your consent (for non-essential cookies and marketing); contract (to deliver services you request); our legitimate interests (to run and grow our business proportionately); and legal obligation where applicable. You may withdraw consent at any time.

Cookies & tracking

We use essential cookies to run the site. Analytics and marketing cookies — including Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, and the Meta Pixel — are only set after you opt in via our consent banner. You can change your choice at any time by clearing cookies or contacting us.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us operate, such as our website hosting, analytics providers (Google, Meta), our scheduling/booking tool, our reviews tool (Reviews Matter), and email delivery providers — each under appropriate data-processing terms.

International data transfers

Your information may be processed in the UK, the EU, the United States, the UAE, or other countries where our providers operate. Where data leaves your jurisdiction, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry data only as long as necessary to deal with your enquiry and for our legitimate business and legal record-keeping, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: access your data; correct or delete it; restrict or object to processing; data portability; withdraw consent; and, for California residents, to opt out of "sale"/"sharing" and not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. Residents of the UK/EU, Canada, Australia and the UAE have equivalent rights under their respective laws. To exercise any right, email us using the addresses above and we will respond within the timeframe required by your local law.

Children

Our site and services are intended for business owners and are not directed at children.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take appropriate steps to safeguard your data.

Complaints

If you have a concern, please contact us first. UK/EU residents may also complain to a supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office, ico.org.uk). Residents of other countries may contact their local data-protection regulator (for the UAE, the UAE Data Office).

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
